Leadership Ecademy, LLC (LE) specializes in the development of leadership competencies for individuals within an organization. Leadership training results are underwhelming in practice. The ‘effectiveness gap’ of traditional training was underscored by a 2013 study where 79% of business executives were going to conduct leadership development training for staff members but only 29% thought the training would be effective! Training is effective when a skill can be used in practice immediately after a training event. Because Leadership Skills are situational, the opportunity to use and practice them is when the situation presents itself. If those skills are not immediately used and reinforced, the effectiveness of the training decays quickly. LE has designed a leadership development model that breaks down competencies into a series of one hour instructor led content presentation sessions. All sessions are conducted in a virtual, interactive classroom that can be accessed by a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Sessions are recorded if a concept needs to be reviewed or if a client misses the session. During each session, the client has to relate the concepts learned to their current business environment on the LE iPad application. Completion of these exercises reinforces the concepts learned in the session. The iPad app uses the SkillFitness technology platform, allowing a student to practice a skill in a real world setting via an iPad video recording. They then electronically share the assignment with a Coach assigned them who reviews the assignment and either approves it or requests another attempt. At the end of the course, the Coach meets with the student via phone, Skype or Zoom to review development progress and problems encountered. Coaching sessions are documented and notes are stored in the Leadership Engine™ database.
